The Grande Baie Salt Marsh - Biotic and Abiotic Characterization for Data Acquisition on the Territory of the North Shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence

The purpose of this project is to generate ecological reference data to draw a global portrait of the state of coastal marshes in the Côte-Nord sector of Quebec, as part of the Coastal Environmental Baseline Program under the Oceans Protection Plan of Fisheries and Oceans Canada. The program to characterize coastal wetlands on the North Shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence was subsidized for a period of 4 years (2023-2027). This dataset covers the Grande Baie marsh area in Port-Cartier. In order to acquire as much knowledge as possible about the North Shore territory, the Comité ZIP Côte-Nord du Golfe (ZIP CNG) has carried out ichthyological and floristic inventories, and has characterized the physicochemical parameters as well as the abiotic factors of the marsh.
